How I Know God Loves Me

Long winter coat, by GEORGE, $24.99.image

He leaves coats like this right where I will find them while perusing the throw pillows (see last post about my new throw pillow and frame obsession).

It was love at first sight.

And wear.

I’ve never had a cute patterned winter coat like this and I don’t think I could find a more perfect one.

It may be a clue to how house decorating obsessed I am when my boyfriend’s response to me asking him what I could maybe buy on Black Friday, or Cyber Monday, is, “I don’t know, throw pillows?”.

Yeah….

That obsessed.

A few weeks ago I found 4 GREAT pillows (one of them being the green one holding up my newest love in the picture above) at Ross Dress for Less (don’t know where I’d be without that store- or what I or my home would be wearing, other than Goodwill) a few weeks ago.  And I swear they changed my entire apartment.

Well, technically, they kind of did.  I live in a studio, so my living room is my apartment 🙂  Anywho, I don’t really need more than those 4- two pillows per couch seems to be enough, but that doesn’t stop me from looking at the throw pillow section when perusing the aisles of Goodwill.

And hence finding the above treasure.

For $2.99.

Unheard of.  Pillows like this at boutique shops here in Nashville- exactly like this one- re easily $30-$40.

Easilly.

No one will know the difference between my Goodwill one, and those boutique ones.

Unless I tell them.

Which I will.

You know, just basing on history and how I act on a daily basis.

I’m a proud Goodwill bargain shopper and I want EVERYONE to know it.

And be jealous.

maybe not the second part, not that, but that does seem to be a by product when I get something for about 90% less than what most people pay.

human nature.

0.99 Talbots Cardigan

image

Talbots cardigan- $0.99

on .99 Wednesday at my Goodwill.

I purchased this at a quick Goodwill stop this morning…yes, I’ll admit- looking for more .99 frames- I found 4.  🙂

It’s not in perfect condition, but also not overwork by any means.  I love the rich orange/brown color as well as the ruffle detail.

I paired it over a long off white tank top, with lace sleeves, blue jeans, and tan boots.

I wish I could have taken a full body picture with more of the cardigan and outfit, but this is better than nothing at all!

Happy warm weather wearing times,

Jaime ❤

Sweaters holding hands, priceless.

While checking out with these great goods- the female cashier, about my age, said,

“You got all the good sweaters!  I’m not even gonna bother looking now, cause I know where they all are.”

True.

Sad for you, but true.  My gain is your loss…err….sorry!

And I always thought by working there, they had first dibs.  Apparently they still can’t get by me:)  She was right, I did find all the good sweaters that day.  And have worn each one already.

I’d have to say my favorite is the actual vintage flower sweatshirt.  I swear you could walk into mass chaos that is Forever 21 and come out with a look alike attempt remake of this, for more, but what’s better than having the real thing?:)

The other two sweaters are great for what they are, but they aren’t 30 plus years old.

Coincidentally (or not???) all the bedding in this picture is Goodwill as well.  The lovely quilt, as well as the fun throw pillows you see.  These were not purchased on this trip, but at several of many other Goodwill trips.  All the pillows were 2.99 or under.  Love them. Two of them are reversible- so its like two in one:)  Making ’em even cheaper!!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my goods!!

Happy living and thrifting,

Jaime ❤

Cowl Neck Sweater

Merona at Target lightweight cowl neck sweater, aqua marine- Goodwill, $5.99.

Love this sweater and it’s classic style for when I feel like acting grown up 🙂

I wore this coffee shopping- aka doing homework at MY local coffee shop.

Home. Warmed. Ahhhhhh

What would I do without Goodwill?

My house would be cold, oh so cold.  Now it is warm, oh so warm.

<clockwise–>

1 sturdy, solid real wood end table.  7.99.  (whaaat?) That spot was just waiting for it, and it fills it out so nicely, kind of like I fill out a spaghetti strap tank top 🙂

2 corner table, with bottom ledge.  6.99.  says ‘come on in, put something down on me and stay awhile’ ok, I will.

3 hanging frame, filled with my adventures out West while staying with my Grandparents in Utah the summer after my Freshman year of University.  ( I said ‘University’ instead of college because secretly I want to be British).  The middle picture is of the Delicate Arch, one of my favorite attractions out at Arches National Park in Moab, Utah ( I recommend anyone and everyone go if you ever, or if you don’t ever, get the chance- make the chance:) Worth it.

4 what can I say about this picture frame(s).  nothing that would do it justice. love. flowery, sparkly pink, pretty and also somewhat rustic metal.  fun fact: each picture showcased here is from a different state.  Completely not on purpose, but so fun when I realized that!  I’ll give you a “you’re not a complete moron” if you can tell me where the top left is from.  :)….San Francisco! ding ding!  Not many ridiculously huge red bridges, yet called Golden, hanging out out there.  The second is in Charleston, SC for my friend’s nuptials, the third is in Tampa, FL where I had a run in with my mama last August! what fun that was…and lastly, bottom right is from here in Nashville lake-ing it last Labor Day with some friendly folks, and a couple dogs, at Percy Priest Lake/Dam

My home is a happy home and so warm now.  All from one trip to the will of good.  Well, at least partly.

I’ll leave you with a couple more snapshots

I got some other great finds that day that I can’t wait to share with you!!  Think leather…….or not.  But if you do, you’ll be that much closer to guessing what one of the items are…

Outfit under 10…and ain’t it great?

Outfit under 10...and ain't it great?

Top- Banana Republic at Goodwill- 4.49
Shorts- J. crew at Goodwill- 4.49
Total outfit- priceless:)

Ok well maybe not…more like 8.98 to be exact.

Look at me being all preppy with the J. Crew and Banana Republic. I have my moments.

These shorts are awesome. What with turning 30 this past year, I feel it’s time to lengthen my short length, mom or not (except to my dog Baker) and I’m ok with that. These will be great for running around and looking green in. In fact I wore them grocery shopping the very day I got them. Groceries bought and eaten very successfully.

The shirt. The shirt. What can I say. How cute?? And white…this makes me a little nervous. But again, turning 30, I should be able to handle a white shirt here and there, but maybe not to the dog park, as I almost did for it’s first adventure. That is something a 25 year old Jaime would do. Not a mature smart responsible 30 year old Jaime. So it still sits, white and ready, waiting to be adventured and told about to you.

It is so pretty though.

And a perfectly fitting size 8. I love seeing that number at Goodwill. As well as a 7. My shoe size.

Do you go back and forth between styles too? Or strictly stay trendy/hipster/preppy/hippy/what have you? I’ve decided I like to change it up myself. Life is too short to live once. Get it?:) Change it up!!

Happy thrifting and living,

Jaime ❤

Safety First, Cuteness Always

Safety First, Cuteness Always

.99 shirt by Mossimo from Goodwill
Heart shaped sunglasses- 12.99 from a boutique in New Orleans

I’ve decided the best kind of souvenir you can get is one that you can wear. Surprising, huh?:). I still love my burnt orange earrings I got from a boutique in the Mission district in San Francisco, and I get to think about that wonderful trip every time I wear them. And I get to talk about it when people compliment the earrings. It’s a win win.

This cute shirt was a steal at a .99 Wednesday at Goodwill a couple months ago. And it was Froommate (that is a word I made up for a friend that is a roommate) approved as well when she saw me wearing it while getting ready in the bathroom this am. Morning is simply too long to type out.

Side note- we have a two sinked bathroom. How cool is that. Kind of weird since we are just two girls- but instead of his and hers, it’s hers and hers, and I love it:). That’s really all I have to say about that, but I think it’s cool we each get our own sink. I’ve never had my own whole sink before. Now if that doesn’t make you feel accomplished I don’t know what will.

Well actually, I can think of quite a few things…your own Lamborghini…your own house…your own dresser set…I guess I’ll start with a sink for now 🙂

Don’t forget to check out the special sale days at your local thrift store! My friend got a Lauren Conrad dress for .99 at a .99 Goodwill day recently!! You never know!!

Happy thrifting and living,

Jaime ❤

If this is what cheating gets me…

If this is what cheating gets me...

…then I’m sorry, I’m not gonna stop.

Oh, also, I cut all my hair off 🙂

And what more does a pixie cut need than a ponies are pretty shirt. So many p’s in there.

This shirt set me back $3.59. And put me forward a whole lot more.

So cute.

Happy thrifting AND living,

Jaime ❤

Wide leg trouser button front jeans- $6.59.

Wide leg trouser button front jeans- $6.59.

I’m not gonna lie- I cheated on Goodwill the last couple days with a not so little thrift store down here called ‘The Southern Thrift’. I’m not ashamed, I got some good stuff.

Including these button front (I am and always have been obsessed with this classic button front high, or semi high, waist style) wide leg trousers by Ann Taylor Loft for…$6.59.

I paired these trousers with one of my favorite imitation vintage graphic tees I got for right around 3.48 at Tar-jay clearance a couple years ago. I got another pattern in the same style shirt, pink with a big graphic butterfly, at the same time, but sadly am afraid I got rid of it in one of those silly times I ACTUALLY cleaned out my closet. I won’t let that happen again.

These both were paired with my trusty open toed flats by blowfish that I got for around $20 at DSW probably more than 2 years ago. And I kid you not, I get compliments on EVERY time I wear them. I really don’t get it, but clearly they’re something special. I hope they NEVER DIE, knock on wood, because I wear them year round, get compliments on them, and am not sure what will happen to me if they do. So we just won’t think about it.

Blowfish. Please keep on keepin’ on. Mama’s got ya.

Side side note- clearly I love this blowfish brand- Goodwill blessed me with a pair of perfect little grey booties by blowfish this last year for $3. Love them as well. But my flats always come first. I’m a grounded girl and I like it that way.

I also got a great oversized quilted ‘purse’ that I will use as a brief case of sorts for notebooks and a laptop (my friend’s, mine is still…broken).

The rest of the list includes size appropriate (smaller than a quarter) clip on (fun!) earrings for work, and a shirt that rivals my imitation graphic tee, and that I may make a separate post to share, a tee from AE that says, “Ponies are pretty,” done. Done. Boatneck shortsleeve pink perfection. $3.59. I will share.
